New World [Closed to Steve]

Everything had gotten quiet after the Eternal Calm. Spira was safe and Yuna was free to do whatever she wanted. She didn't know what that was but she had all the time she needed to search for it. That was when she found that sphere. It wasn't a normal sphere. It's magic flowed through her and with a sudden woosh and a kaleidoscope of color, Yuna was whisked away to another world and another time.
The colors were muted in this world but Yuna didn't really have time to look around. She was falling through the air when she felt herself land on top of someone with a pained thud. She closed her eyes and groaned as she shifted in a sudden tangled mass of limbs.
"Oh. I'm sorry." Her palm touched his shoulder as she tried to right herself.

"What... what just happened," he groaned, lying still so that the woman could disentangle herself from him.

Date: 2019-04-26 05:45 pm (UTC)"Are you okay?" She hurried to his side and held out a hand. "I didn't mean to land on you." A pair of mismatched eyes stared down at Steve, her brow furrowed with worry.
She was too focused on Steve to notice the few people standing around gawking at them.

Date: 2019-04-29 12:54 pm (UTC)"I don't mean to be rude miss but did you just fall from the sky?"
no subject
Date: 2019-04-29 02:33 pm (UTC)It wasn't really a rude question.
"I'm sorry. I hadn't expected anyone to be beneath me when I jumped." The portal should have placed her on the ground, not several yards in the air.
Her fingers laced together in front of her as she took stock of the man she'd fallen on. He was dressed in comfortable clothes and sweating like he'd been working out. Her own attire looked like she had stepped out of a cosplay or maybe she was a Superhero in her own right.
"I'm Yuna, from the isle of Besaide. I hope you don't mind me asking but do you know where I am?"

Date: 2019-05-01 01:55 am (UTC)“Jumped from where?” Steve asked, glancing up at the sky. Any of the buildings or ledges that were nearby were far too high up for her to have fallen from that height. Of course, she could always be superhuman which begged the question of “Why” instead of “how”.
“And I do know where you are. I’m guessing that you don’t though?” Steve asked.

Date: 2019-05-07 04:30 pm (UTC)That wasn't exactly discrete and even if she didn't recognize what a phone was, she instantly understood that it was something similar to Shinra's spheres.
She turned back to Steve and flashed him a warm smile. "Is there somewhere we can go to talk? It's a long story."

Date: 2019-05-11 05:24 am (UTC)Steve raised an eyebrow at her but that was his only reaction to her claim that it was hard to explain. He had a feeling that it wasn't "hard to explain" so much as it was "hard bot believe" but he could understand that. He would have offered to get her somewhere safe anyway just on how uncomfortable she seemed to be with the phones.
"Of course, why don't you come this way," he said, offering her his arm. "I have a place where no one will bother us."

Date: 2019-05-13 03:18 am (UTC)"Thank you." She took his arm, her smile soft and sweet. "I guess I'm lucky to have fallen on you."

Date: 2019-05-15 06:09 pm (UTC)“Not as lucky as if you’d landed in a pillow factory but it could have gone a lot worse,” Steve agreed. Not only could he provide a listening ear but if the woman was dangerous... well better she was with him than someone else.
“So where is it you’re from?” He asked as they stepped inside the Avengers compound.

Date: 2019-05-16 12:01 am (UTC)Her mismatched gaze shifted to the large complex as she stepped inside. She didn't know what she'd been expecting but it wasn't something as large as this. Yuna noticed there were some people coming and going but it looked as if everyone had something specific to do.
"Oh. It's a world called Spira. Have you heard of it?"
no subject
Date: 2019-05-20 01:11 pm (UTC)"They have to make them somewhere," he said. Not that he'd ever been to a pillow factory but he knew that anything mass produced these days was automated.
"And I've never heard of it," he told her as he lead her into one of the board room in the building. They'd have some privacy in here and she could fully explain what was going on. "Then again, I'm not the guy to really talk to about other worlds."

Date: 2019-05-21 03:30 am (UTC)She stopped walking and turned to face Steve fully. "I am just learning about it myself. You see. I found this sphere and it sent me here."
Yuna pulled out the glowing orb of magic that shifted and pulsed like water but was somehow colored purple green and orange. "I don't know how I managed it. Sphere's, in my world, are used to record histories but this one is different somehow." She was a little nervous about touching it without taking the time to learn about what it did.

Date: 2019-07-02 03:12 pm (UTC)When she pulled out the sphere Steve had to rethink what her world was like though. In his world in a time that didn't have factories didn't have anything like that orb, to send people to different worlds or to record histories.
"And it keeps sending you to different worlds? How long do you stay in them?"
no subject
Date: 2019-07-04 05:11 am (UTC)"It is different for each world. I'm not sure how long I will stay here or if I will ever find my way home again." She met his gaze and then lightly traced her fingers around the mental ring circling the base of the sphere. The blue inside the sphere shifted like water and yet somehow remained solid. "When it's time, this will change colors."
She released the piece of metal and then slid the sphere back into her pocket. "Spheres grow on Spira or, they used too. Since the magic has been fading, the spheres have been as well. It's been… some time since I was in Spira." Yuna believed that everyone was okay but it's been months since she's been home. "I'm sorry. This probably doesn't make a lot of sense."
no subject
Date: 2019-07-06 06:22 am (UTC)"The magic just... grows there?" Steve asked. He'd never heard of a world like that, not that he'd ever heard of other worlds at all really. Apparently they were incredibly diverse which Steve found rather beautiful. Part of him wondered if he would ever get to see other realities like that. He wondered if he wanted to.
"We do have a lot of tall buildings," he said with a bit of a laugh. "Do most worlds you visit not have buildings this tall?"
Steve wasn't sure if she appreciated all these questions but he couldn't help himself, he was fascinated at hearing all of those. And something about her made him believe her instantly. He didn't think you could fake that sort of wide-eyed wonder that she had.

Date: 2019-07-16 01:39 am (UTC)Yuna laced her fingers in front of her as she looked up at the towering DC skyline. She wasn't really paying attention to where they were going since she's never been in this world before. She would follow his lead and trust him.
"That's not it. Spira doesn't have a lot of tall buildings. Until recently, we couldn't. They make me a little dizzy." She looked back at Steve with a bashful smile. "It's silly, isn't it?"
no subject
Date: 2019-07-21 06:37 pm (UTC)“Not silly at all. Trust me, I know a little about suddenly finding yourself in a world that isn’t familiar,” he said, giving her an understanding smile. If she got dizzy from the buildings he would try not to overwhelm her.
Hopefully she would adjust quickly and if not then he would take her upstate to the Avengers compound where it wasn’t quite so overwhelming. The compound was big but it wasn’t quite so tall and was surrounded by forest.
“Why don’t you think you can bring magic back?”

Date: 2019-07-22 01:51 am (UTC)"But it's alright." She assured him confidently. "I am not alone."
Which meant she could focus on this world without worrying about what was happening with Spira. "Where are we going?" Her boots scrapped against the ground as she followed at his side. Anyone they passed stopped and stared at the pair, first at Yuna in her odd attire and then at Steve who was well known.

Date: 2019-08-04 03:32 am (UTC)"Don't sell yourself short. You don't know what you might be able to inspire other people to do," he said, giving her a smile. He wasn't sure about magic or how it worked but he had seen first hand the ability of someone to inspire others just with their own faith.
"We're going to my quarters. It's in that big building up there," he said, pointing to the Avengers Tower that was not too far away. "I figured you might want a place to relax and I can tell you more about this world and how things work here."

Date: 2019-08-12 01:43 am (UTC)The world needed to stand on its own if it wanted to survive and now she was here, traveling between worlds and time.
Her head turned to see the large building towards the center of the city. "Thank you. I'd like that. It's hard getting used to different worlds. This one has a lot more machina then I'm used too."

Date: 2019-08-18 10:24 pm (UTC)"That sounds like a lot of responsibility," Steve said. When he had been frozen in the ice the world had moved on just fine. Sure it hit people he was close to hard but the world didn't miss Captain America much. That was the way that it should be though so he could understand where the girl was coming from.
"Well anything I can do to make it easier, let me know? I can get you set up with a place to stay. The apartment next to mine is free. I'm part of a... agency that tries to help people around the world and protect them from threats so we have some experience with weird situations."

Date: 2019-09-22 08:56 pm (UTC)Yuna laced her fingers behind her back, smiling gently as they walked through the DC streets.
"You have helped a lot already but it'd be nice to have someone who can explain things to me." There was a lot about this world that Yuna didn't know or didn't understand. "Will this agency help me too?"
It sounded very nice though Yuna hadn't had a lot of luck with organizations of any kind.

Date: 2019-09-28 04:32 am (UTC)"Well we'll do our best. And SHIELD will do it's best, although just so you know they're a spy-slash-defense force so their first priority will be making sure you're not a threat. Just because you're cute we know that can also mean you're dangerous. Not that I think you are but... they'll want to be sure," Steve explained. SHIELD was good for a lot of things but gently handling and reassuring someone wasn't one of them. It sounded like Yuna already had a lot to deal with and even if she could handle SHIELD at their roughest she shouldn't have to.

Date: 2019-10-12 12:16 am (UTC)"And don't worry. I think I can handle this Shield and if they are able to help me, then I'll try and help them too."

Date: 2019-10-24 08:39 pm (UTC)"Well we'll certainly do our best to-"
Before he could finish alarms started going off around the building and his commlink started beeping wildly. He didn't even have to check it to see what was going on though as he saw a ship flying in close to a nearby SHIELD building. It was an extraction, Steve was sure of it, which meant it was either HYDRA or another organization like that and whoever it was couldn't get away.
"Well, if you'd like to help out it would be really nice if you could help bring that plane down so we can interrogate whoever's inside!" he said before turning and running toward it.

Date: 2019-11-16 01:17 am (UTC)Her attention refocused on her guide and she smiled. "You can count on me."
She pulled out her twinbee guns and held them in either hand. Magic gathered around her but she didn't shoot just yet. "Where should I shoot? I don't want it to land in the city." There was water nearby but Yuna didn't know if she could aim a falling ship towards the seemingly small expanse of bay.

Date: 2019-12-19 04:29 am (UTC)"Hit one of the rotors!" Steve called to her over his shoulder as he started running toward the ship. If she could disable one of the engines then he was positive that he could bring the rest of it down in a relatively controlled descent as the ships were designed to still be able to fly well enough to be landed with only one working rotor. He didn't even hesitate to ask her help either, from the way she was handling herself it was obvious she knew what she was doing.

Date: 2019-12-23 08:33 pm (UTC)As soon as the energy was gone she felt a rush through her body that quickly subsided afterwards. She'd have to get used to that if she wanted to continue to cast in this world.
The bullet was larger than most of her attacks, it was a pot shot that would ignore the strength of the armor around the rotor and attack the weak points of the ship. She'd never cast anything so big and so she was surprised when her attack impacted, causing a loud explosion in the air above them.
"Steve?"
She went running towards him, letting her twinbee's fade in a soft glow of silver magic that transported them into her spheres.
